What we cover

Public Liability

Third party injury and property damage

Provides protection for claims of compensation for unexpected and unintended property damage or personal injury to third parties, for which the business is legally liable. The policy also covers the costs of defending those claims.

Professional Indemnity

Breach of professional duty

Provides protection for businesses and professional people against legal liability arising from a breach of professional duty or negligence in the performance of professional services, including legal costs and expenses relating to defending those claims.

Statutory Liability

Breaches of legislation

Covers breaches of most legislation, such as the Fair Trading Act, Consumer Guarantees Act and Privacy Act, but excluding criminal acts and taxation legislation. Cover includes defence costs and, in most cases, fines and penalties imposed following a conviction. Fines under the Health & Safety in Employment Act are excluded.

Employers Liability

Injury not covered by ACC

Provides protection to employers for the costs of legal action and any compensation awarded to employees as a result of personal injury suffered in the course of their employment, where it is not covered by ACC.

Cyber Liability

Data breach and cyber fraud

With cyber fraud on the rise, no industry sector, business type or size is immune to the financial and reputational consequences. We arrange comprehensive solutions protecting your business assets against the growing complexity of cyber threats.

Directors & Officers Liability

Wrongful acts by management

Protects directors, senior management and officers of your business for wrongful acts committed while carrying out their duties in managing the company. Cover includes the costs of legal representation in defending civil or criminal proceedings, and settlements or judgements awarded where no indemnity is given by the company.

Fidelity

Dishonesty by staff

Protects the business against loss of money, property or services belonging to the company through any dishonest or fraudulent act by staff employed by the company.

Association Liability

Community and industry bodies

Provides protection to those engaged in community or industry associations who may be held personally liable for wrongful acts such as errors, omissions or mistakes while undertaking their duties for the association.

Trustees Liability

Breach of trust or duty

Provides protection against claims for actual or alleged breach of trust, breach of duty, negligent acts, errors or omissions while undertaking duties for the trust.

Carriers Liability

Carriage of Goods Act 1979

Covers liabilities imposed by the Carriage of Goods Act 1979. Cover is available for loss or damage to goods carried on a Limited Carriers Risk basis, specified cover for goods carried at Owners Risk, and Declared Value or Declared Terms sendings. It also covers debris removal and clean up following an accident, expediting expenses and consequential loss for which you are legally liable.
